Q.1) The ratio of the present age of a father to that of his son is 5 : 3. Ten years hence the ratio would be 3 : 2. Find their present ages. [Ans. 50,30]

The ratio of present age of father and son is 5:3
∴ Present age father = 5x
Present age of son = 3x
After 10 yers ratio is 3:2
After 10 years father age = 5x+10
and son's age = 3x+10

10x+20 = 9x + 30
10x - 9x = 30 -20
x = 10
∴ Percentage of father = 5x = 50
Present age of son =3x = 30
ans: 50 and 30
